Elgin, IL, February 9, 2021 – DTV Innovations today announced that Korean Broadcasting System has chosen the company’s ATSC transport stream failover switches to strengthen and modernize the robustness of its nationwide television network.
Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the national public broadcaster of South Korea, is internationally known within the broadcasting industry for its high engineering standards and rigorous equipment testing. KBS engineers spent months evaluating the TSACO Transport Stream Automatic Change Over switch before purchasing these units for a nationwide deployment.
For nearly 60-years, KBS has served as the standard of trust in South Korean media with an estimated audience of 26 million people watching daily. Mr. Park, Manager at KBS, stated: “We were very impressed by the 3-level priority monitoring, seamless switching, and high build quality of DTV Innovations’ switches.” Mr. Park added, “we had no reservations about choosing Huton Digital and DTV Innovations as partners for this important nationwide network upgrade.”
Benitius Handjojo, CEO, DTV Innovations, stated: “South Korea is known as a tough market with many venerable competitors; I see this order as validation that DTV Innovations has truly become a global brand. I’m honored to have had our solution selected.” KBS now joins other leading broadcasters that have standardized on the TSACO to improve network availability.
Huton Digital, Inc., DTV Innovations’ value-added reseller in South Korea, is providing in-country support to KBS to ensure that the deployment goes smoothly.
