Palatine, IL, April 14, 2016 – DTV Innovations today announced that Tribune Broadcasting Company has chosen DTV Innovations’ high-definition video encoder with internal modulator to refresh its ENG and DSNG fleet and bring the company into full compliance with the FCC’s DVB-CID mandate.
“We selected DTV Innovations encoders for this latest project because we’ve been pleased with the performance and reliability of these encoders,” said Bill Vanduynhoven, Director, Engineering Operations, for Tribune Broadcasting. “DTVI provided a cost-effective upgrade path for our existing encoders, enabling us to protect our previous investment. The operational ease-of-use of these video encoders – and the support provided by DTVI—is unmatched, making the decision to continue recommending them rather easy.”
The Gryphon PVE-3 (formerly TITAN-3) is a compact, lightweight, video encoder providing exceptional value. It supports standard and high-definition MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoding up to 4:2:2 10-bit. The key attributes of the encoder include ultra-low latency, operational ease-of-use, rapid boot up, and high reliability, all in a platform that is field upgradeable.
“Tribune Media has been an important client of ours for many years and we are honored that the company has selected our Gryphon PVE-3 video encoders for their news fleet refresh,” said Benitius (Benny) Handjojo, CEO, DTV Innovations. “Tribune’s order builds on the early success that DTVI has enjoyed selling its encoders and related products throughout North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East since acquiring the video contribution business less than six months ago.”
