The basis of associating DTVi's PSIP Pro Software with a particular television broadcast station is the station's transport Stream Id. As a result a station who utilizes DTVi's PSIP Pro Software can run multiple PSIP generators using the same transport stream Id. The investment required to operate a second PSIP license is a fraction of the cost of the initial PSIP system and in the event of a failure, provides a return on the investment in a matter of a few days or even a few hours.

To assist broadcasters in designing a redundant solution, DTVi has developed the DTV Innovation's Transport Stream Automatic Change-over Switch, TSACO-1000 and TSACO-2000.

The diagram above demonstrates a high level depiction of how DTVi's redundancy solution monitors the health of the primary PSIP generator and switches to the backup PSIP Generator in the event the primary stream should fail.
